History written in architecture
The site where Luxsfera is being built is part of Łódź’s industrial history. The first development on this plot appeared around 1911, when a single-story weaving mill belonging to the Lace and Ribbon Factory of Emil Eisert and Ludwik Schweikert was built. In subsequent years, the site was associated with the Mechanical Works and Oxygen Factory of Franciszek Wagner and Co., and its development grew in tandem with the city’s industrial character.
One of the most distinctive elements of the former complex was the shed hall – a building with a distinctive sawtooth roof, whose design allowed for maximum use of natural light. Preserved archival materials, plans, and photographs allow us to reconstruct its shape and scale.
The history of this place, however, will not remain a mere memory. The shed motif was consciously incorporated into the Luxsfera design, becoming a subtle reference to the industrial heritage of this part of Łódź. Contemporary architecture meets history here, creating a new quality that remains ingrained in the character of the place.
